Buy Now - Quick Checkout

"Buy Now - Jump buyers directly to checkout"

The Buy Now feature allows customers to purchase a product directly from the Product Details page without first adding it to their shopping cart. Instead of following the standard Cart → Checkout process, customers are taken directly to the Checkout page, allowing them to complete their purchase more quickly. Retailers can offer a faster purchasing experience while continuing to use their existing checkout configuration, fulfillment methods, pricing rules, inventory validation, and payment options.

This KB article explains how customers can quickly make a purchase using the "Buy Now" option on the Product Details page.

1. "Buy Now" Availability

The "Buy Now" button is available from:
  1. Product Details page

  2. Reserve a time slot, if required

NotesNote: If a customer reaches the final checkout page through Buy Now and remembers they have Loyalty Coupons (Promotional or Digital) or an available Loyalty Redeem Balance, they can go back to the cart to apply them before placing the order.

4. Shopping Cart Compatibility

The Buy Now feature keeps the Buy Now purchase separate from the customer's existing shopping cart.
Info
If the customer already has products in the cart, only the selected Buy Now product is displayed during checkout. Existing cart items remain unchanged.
  1. If the customer selects "Back to Cart" or the "Click Here" link to redeem loyalty rewards or coupons, the Buy Now product is added to the shopping cart. The customer can then continue through the standard Cart → Checkout process with all cart items.
  2. If the customer leaves the Buy Now checkout without returning to the shopping cart, the Buy Now session ends and the product is not added to the cart.

5. Inventory Validation

The Buy Now feature follows the existing inventory validation process.
  1. Customers can purchase products only when inventory is available.
  2. If the selected quantity exceeds the available stock during Buy Now clicking, the customer is notified with an Available Stock message.
  3. If the available inventory changes before the order is placed and the selected quantity exceeds the current stock on the Checkout page, the quantity is automatically adjusted to the available stock, and the customer is notified through an Available Stock pop-up.
  4. If the product is out of stock, the "Buy Now" button is disabled until inventory becomes available.
