Domain Settings

"Connect a Custom Domain to Your FTx Commerce Online Store"

The Domain Settings section allows retailers to connect their own custom domain (for example, www.yourbusiness.com) to the FTx Commerce storefront. Once configured, customers can access the white-labeled e-commerce website using the retailer's branded domain instead of the default FTx Commerce URL.

The setup consists of the following steps:
  1. Review the DNS configuration instructions.
  2. Add and verify your custom domain.
Prerequisites
Before connecting your domain, ensure that:
  • You own a registered domain from a domain provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Google Domains, etc.).
  • You have administrator access to your domain provider's DNS settings.
  • DNS propagation may take several minutes up to 24 hours depending on your DNS provider.

1. Reaching Domain Settings

As retailers/store admin, you can configure the email setup for the sender. The configuration process will vary depending on whether multi-brand is disabled or enabled.

1.1 For Standalone Online Store

When the multi-brand option is disabled in Control Center, you have only a single online store/site for your business.

Follow steps below to set up the disclaimer for the site/app:
  1. Step 1: Log into Store Admin
  2. Step 2: Click Settings -> General -> Website Settings
  3. Step 3: Click Domain Settings

1.2 For Multiple Online Brand Stores

When the multi-brand option is enabled from the Control Center side, the Domain Settings can be set up individually for each online brand store.
Follow the below steps to set up the domain for the store individually:
  1. Step 1: Log into Store Admin -> Click Online Brand Stores
  2. Step 2: Click the Settings icon for the online brand store
  3. Step 3: When you redirect to inside the specific store, click Website Settings -> Domain Settings

Note: Whether multi-brand is enabled or disabled, the steps for setting up and managing the Email Setup records individually for each online brand store will be the same.

2. Domain Settings

2.1 DNS Configuration Details

  1. DNS configuration details required for your domain.
  2. Required DNS record type (CNAME)
  3. CNAME Name (Host)
  4. CNAME Value (Target)
  5. General steps to configure DNS at your domain provider
  6. Note: DNS settings must be updated through your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap).

2.2 Add Your Domain

In the Enter Domain field, enter your fully qualified domain name.
  1. Enter your custom domain in the Enter Domain field.
  2. Click "Verify & Add."
Upon clicking "Verify & Add," the system will:
  1. Validate the domain format
  2. Check whether the domain already exists
  3. Generate the required DNS validation records
  4. Add the domain to the configured domains list
After successful verification, the domain appears in the Domain List.
  1. Domain: Configured custom domain.
  2. DNS: Opens the DNS records required for validation.
  3. Available Actions:
    -> Edit: Update the domain name.
    -> Delete: Remove the configured domain.
    -> View DNS: View the DNS records required for validation.
Note: Deleted domains may take up to 1 hour to be removed completely.

2.2 View DNS Record

Selecting View DNS opens the DNS Records window. This screen provides all DNS records required to validate ownership of the domain.
  1. Domain Name: Domain currently being validated.
  2. Type: DNS record type (typically CNAME).
  3. CNAME Name: Hostname that must be created in your DNS provider.
  4. CNAME Value: Destination value that the CNAME must point to.
  5. Status: Current DNS validation result.

1. DNS Status

Pending Validation
  1. DNS records have not yet been detected.
  2. Verify the CNAME details at your domain provider and allow time for DNS propagation.
Validated
  1. The domain has been successfully verified and is ready for use.

2. Domain Troubleshooting

  1. Domain not verified: Check that the CNAME Name and Value match the generated DNS records.
  2. Pending Validation: Wait for DNS propagation and refresh the status later.
  3. Unable to access the site: Ensure DNS validation is complete before using the domain.
Summary for Domain Settings
  1. Review the DNS instructions
  2. Enter your domain and click "Verify & Add"
  3. Configure the generated CNAME records with your domain provider
  4. Monitor the validation status using View DNS until the domain is successfully validated
