Email Setup
"Default or Setup SMTP"
Customers receive email notifications related to orders, which can sometimes end up in the "Spam" or "Others" folder instead of the main "Inbox" or "Focus". For this solution, setting up SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) ensures that important emails, like order notifications, go directly to customers' inboxes instead of their spam or junk folders. A properly configured email system helps businesses communicate reliably with their customers, ensuring they receive timely updates without any issues.
1. Reaching Email Setup
As retailers/store admin, you can configure the "Email Setup" for the sender. The configuration process will vary depending on whether multi-brand is disabled or enabled.
1.1 For Standalone Online Store
When the 'multi-brand' option is disabled in the control center, you have only a single online store/site for your business. Follow the below steps to set up the Sender Email:
- Step 1: Log into Store Admin
- Step 2: Click Settings -> Website Settings
- Step 3: Click Email Setup

2. Email Setup
By default, the email address "noreply-FTx@maili.goftx.com" is used for sending order-related emails. This may result in emails being marked as spam or appearing in the Others/Spam/Junk folder instead of the main Inbox or Focused Inbox. To avoid this, you can set up a custom email domain using your own SMTP settings.
Setting Up Custom Email (SMTP)
To improve email deliverability and ensure order notifications are received in the Inbox, select "Custom SMTP" and enter the relevant server details:
SMTP Email Host: The hostname of your SMTP server (e.g., smtp.yourdomain.com).
SMTP Port: The port number utilized by your SMTP server (commonly 587 or 465 for secure connections).
SMTP Username: Your SMTP account username.
SMTP Password: Your SMTP account password.
Custom Email Address: The email address you want to utilize for sending emails.
The email domain must follow authentication protocols.
Verify and Connect: Once you have entered all the necessary information, click the "Verify and connect" button to test the connection and ensure the SMTP setup is correctly established. The system will verify your settings and, if successful, display the message "Setup Verified!"
Once everything is set up successfully, save the changes to apply the configured email settings.

If you setup the email with SMTP, your customers will receive order notifications and other important emails directly in their Inbox instead of Junk/Spam folders, improving communication reliability.
