1. Overview
The Campaign Item Simulator allows you to preview the reward tokens (points) that a product would earn under the current campaign before the campaign is saved or published. It also identifies any other active campaigns that reward the same item, enabling you to verify the expected rewards prior to launching the campaign.
The simulator is read-only and does not save, modify, or publish any campaign data.

Figure 1.5
For each product, the following information is displayed:
- Product Name
- UPC
- Remove Item option
Click "Remove Item" to remove a product from the simulator.
4. Check Item Results

Figure 1.6
The simulator evaluates each selected item against all applicable active campaigns and displays the calculated rewards. Each time this button is clicked, any previous results are cleared, and a new calculation is performed.
5. Reward Calculation
When the simulation is executed, the system performs the following operations for each selected item:
- Retrieves the item price for the selected location.
- Identifies all active campaigns associated with the account.
- Determines whether the item satisfies each campaign's eligibility criteria.
- Calculates the reward tokens based on the campaign's reward configuration.
- Distributes rewards across configured team levels, when applicable.
- Displays the campaign currently being edited at the top of the results.
Note: Auto Trigger campaigns are excluded from the simulator because they are executed only through automatic events and not through manual reward calculations.
6. Supported Reward Types
The Campaign Item Simulator supports the following campaign reward types:
Reward Type | Description |
Percent Dollar Value (Open Ended) | Calculates rewards as a percentage of the purchase amount. |
Points Per Dollar Value (Open Ended) | Awards points based on the configured dollar threshold. |
Static Point (Open Ended) | Awards a fixed number of points per qualifying quantity. |
Percent Dollar Coupon (Points Earned) | Calculates rewards when the campaign's trigger amount is met. |
Static Point (Points Earned) | Awards a fixed number of points when the trigger amount is satisfied. |
7. Simulation Results
For each qualifying product, the simulator displays:
- Product Name
- UPC
- Total Reward Tokens
- Campaign-specific reward details
- Team-level reward distribution (Level 1 through Level 5, when configured)
- Overall reward total across all qualifying campaigns
If the campaign includes a non-cash tender multiplier, the multiplied reward value is also displayed.
If a campaign has a maximum dollar limit, the simulator ensures the calculated reward does not exceed the configured cap.
7.1 No Campaigns Found
If the selected item does not qualify for any active campaign, the simulator displays the following message:
- No Campaigns Found For This Item
8. Limitations
The Campaign Item Simulator has the following limitations:
- Available only when editing an existing campaign.
- Cannot be accessed while creating a new campaign.
- Read-only functionality; no campaign data is saved or modified.
- Uses the current unsaved campaign values for simulation, allowing changes to be previewed before saving.
- Auto Trigger campaigns are excluded from the results.
- Items excluded through account-level blacklists are not considered during the simulation.
- Invalid or unknown UPC values return a No Item Found message.
- Each simulation run replaces any previously displayed results with a new calculation.
