Pricebook Zones Overview


A pricebook zone is a container of costs/prices for products that are sold. Every product pulls it's cost/price from a pricebook zone "container" that is assigned to one or more stores.

Pricebook Zone Flow: Pricebook Zone > Update Price & Cost in Product Master (Product page) > Assign Pricebook Zone to Locations”


Navigating to the Pricebook Zones module 


To reach the "Pricebook Zones", 
  1. Login to Control Center 
  2. Choose Point of Sales
  3. Choose Maintenance 
  4. Choose Locations
  5. Choose Pricebook Zones (from header menu drop-down, see Figure A)

Understanding the Pricebook Zones main page 

Click the “Pricebook Zones” as shown in the image above labeled Figure A. You will navigate to the list of the price book zones as shown in Figure B.

1. Pricebook Zone ListYou will see the list of the Price Book Zones in the grid view. If any Pricebook Zone is defined as “Default”, that record will be indicated as the green ticked mark.
2. Edit Pricebook ZoneThis button helps the user to modify the details of the Pricebook Zone. 
3. Delete Pricebook: This button helps the user to remove the Pricebook Zone.
4. Add New: This button helps the user to add a new Pricebook Zone.

Adding New Pricebook Zone
Follow the steps mentioned below to add a new Pricebook Zone: 
  1. Click the "Add New" button that is highlighted in Figure B to add the new Pricebook Zone. 
  2. After clicking the "Add New" button, the form highlighted in Figure C will appear on the screen.

Fields: 
You will see the fields of the Pricebook Zone as shown in Figure C above. 
1. Name: Enter the name of the Pricebook Zone.
2. Copy from Zone: Select an existing Pricebook Zone from the drop-down selection. This field will copy the settings of the selected Pricebook Zone for the new Pricebook Zone i.e., Product’s Cost & Price. 
This will help to avoid manual entry with the common settings so reduce the time for the new Pricebook Zone. 3. Default Zone: This option is for the Locations. Once you create the location, you can assign the Pricebook Zone to the specific location. By clicking on the toggle button, you can enable/disable this option. 
If you enable this option, the zone will be considered as default. So, the newly created locations will have this Pricebook zone as default automatically. But, if you have disabled this option, the Pricebook Zone will not be considered the default zone. Note: You can select only one default Pricebook Zone at a time. Only one Pricebook will be considered a default.
4. Zone Background Color: Select any background color for the Pricebook Zone to differentiate the visibility of the products after selecting the Pricebook zone. It will be easy to identify which zone you have selected i.e., Mass update. 5. Buttons:
- Preview: Click on this button if you want to see how the item listing of the Mass Update would look after selecting the Background Color. See Figure D

Once the avatar details are entered, save the avatar.

- Save & Close: Click on this button if you want to save the Pricebook Zone and close it. 
- Save & New: Click on this button if you want to save the Pricebook Zone but also want new address details for another customer. 
- Save: Click on this button if you want to stay on the Pricebook Zone page after saving the zone. 
- Cancel: Pricebook Zone will not be saved and you will be redirected to the list on the Pricebook Zone page. 

Once the avatar details are saved, that record will be listed on the avatar page. See Figure E below.

Pricebook Zone at Product Master

The new Pricebook Zone can be seen on the product edit page where the admin user can enter the Cost & Price for the product for that specific Zone. See Figure F.

Assign Pricebook to Location

Once you create the new Pricebook Zone, the admin user can select it from the “Details” form of the Location. See Figure G.

So, the admin user can select the Pricebook Zone when setting up the new or existing Location.

Editing a Pricebook Zone 

Follow the steps mentioned below to edit/update the Pricebook Zone details: 

  1. To edit the Pricebook Zone details, click the "Modify" button that is highlighted in Figure B. 
  2. The Pricebook Zone details page will redirect. See Figure H below.

  1. Edit/update the customer and address fields accordingly. 

Buttons:


- Delete: This button will delete the entire address record. If you click, the warning message will pop up on the screen.
- Other buttons' explanations will be similar to “Adding New Pricebook Zone”.

 
 

Deleting a Pricebook Zone 

Follow the steps mentioned below to delete the Pricebook Zone record: 
  1. Click the "Delete" icon highlighted in Figure B to delete the Pricebook Zone.
  2. The popup will appear to confirm deleting the Pricebook Zone (an entire record).
    See Figure I below.

You can delete the Pricebook Zone record from its editing page as well (See Figure H). In both cases, the confirmation popup will be asked.

Deleting assigned Pricebook

You cannot delete the Pricebook Zone if you have already been assigned to one or multiple locations. If you try to delete it, you will see the notification message as shown in Figure J.
