4. Min Order Amount & Fixed Fee

Shipping Integration & Method:
Now, configure the shipping method to ship the order to the customers via a third-party courier service provider. First, you need to select the following shipping method:
5. Do you want to add an integration to help with shipping?
You need to integrate the standard shipping using "I'll do it myself (custom)" only. "Shippo" and "Ship Station" will be implemented shortly.
6. Order Fulfillment Method
You can select the "Manual" or "Automatic" type for shipping. Currently, you need to select the "Manual" type as the "Automatic" type will be implemented shortly.
Figure 2.2
After selecting the 'Shipping Integration (Method)' and 'Shipping Type', you need to create a package(s) for order packing and the shipping profile(s) to define the custom shipping rates.
2.1 Shipping Profiles and Shipping Packages
The 'Shipping Profile' and 'Shipping Package' are connected to each other. You can define the package in which you ship the order, and you can also define the shipping rates based on that.
2.1.1 Creating Shipping Package
Configure the "shipping package" in which you will be shipping the order to the customers.
By clicking the Shipping Package(s),
1. You can see the existing package details and instructions. You can edit/delete the package, but that affects the shipping rate under the Shipping Profile.
Figure 2.1.1.1
2. Click "Create New Package" to create a new package by defining the package dimensions.
By clicking the button, a pop-up window named "Create New Package" will appear. You can configure the following setups regarding the package:
1. Package Name: Enter the package name as per the package type.
2. Package Type: Select the packaging type to identify the package, mainly "Box", "Envelope", and "Soft Package or Satchel."
Figure 2.3.1-2
3. Dimensions: Based on the selection of the package type, you will get the following dimensions:
Length | Width | Height | Unit. If you select the Envelope type, the Height dimension will not be required.
4. Weight: Calculate and enter the weight when the package is empty. This is an optional parameter. This could be required when the package box or container is heavy.
5. If you want to calculate the shipping rates based on the package, you need to tick the "Use this package to calculate rate at checkout" checkbox.
Once you create a package, click the "Save and Close" button to save the package.
2.1.2 Creating Shipping Profile & Shipping Rates
Once the shipping package is created, you need to create a Shipping Profile where you can select the states where you can ship the customer's order. By clicking "Shipping Profile(s), you can see the shipping profile listing if the shipping profile has already been created. By clicking the "Create Shipping Profile" button, you can select the states where you can ship the order along with the custom shipping rates.
Figure 2.1.2.1
By clicking that button, a pop-up window will appear to set up the shipping profile.
1. Shipping Profile Name: Enter the profile name.
2. Shipping For: Select the shipping location (store) from where the customer's order will be shipped. You will get a list of the locations (stores) that are configured in the control center. The location could also be the warehouse from where the orders are being shipped.
Figure 2.1.2.2
3. Shipping To: You will get the entire list of the US states. You need to tick the state(s), and from there, you are able to ship the order to the customer's address. You can also search for US state/regions by entering the label in the search edit box.
Note: Once the location (store) is selected for one profile, you can't select that location for another profile.
Once you set up the profile, you need to save it, and only then can you add the shipping rates.
Figure 2.1.2.3
By clicking the menu icon, you will get a pop-up to add a rate.
By clicking the "Add Rate" option, a pop-up window named "Add Shipping Rate" will appear to set up the shipping rate as per different parameters and ranges.
There are the following fields and parameters to set up the shipping rate:
1. Rate Name: Enter the rate name as per the parameters you select.
Note: For the shipping rates that are added under the specific profile, the shipping rate list will be displayed to customers during checkout so they can select the shipping rate as per their choice.
Figure 2.1.2.4
2. Rate Type: Select the rate type as per the fixed or tiered rate. The following types are provided:
Fixed Rate & Tiered Rate - By Order Total | Tiered Rate - By Order Weight | Tiered Rate - By Order Volume | Tiered Rate - By Distance
"Tiered Rate" means defining the range of the selected rate type.
Figure 2.1.2.5
3.
Rate Calculation Type: You can calculate the rate based on the Flat $ or Percentage % for the Rate Type.
Flat Rate ($)/Percentage (%): As per the selection of the "Rate Calculation Type," you need to enter the flat rate $ or percentage % value that will be calculated based on the rate type selection.
If it is a Flat Rate ($), it will be added to the sub-total, but if it is a Percentage (%), it will be calculated on the order sub-total.
4. Max Rate Value ($): Enter the max rate value in a fixed amount ($) that can't be exceeded, whatever the rate type and calculation type are selected to charge the shipping rate to the customers.
5. Unit Type: When you select the by-order weight or volume rate type, only then do you need to select the unit type. By order volume, cubic feet (ft3) will be selected by default.
Figure 2.1.2.6
- How to define the shipping rate with the range (tiered rate)?
You can define the shipping rate in range for the selected "Rate Type."
Ex.:
The "Tiered Rate - By Order Weight" rate type is selected. | "Pound (LB)" unit type is selected | "Flat $" calculation type is selected.
By clicking the "+" (add) icon, you can define the range and the Rate.
Figure 2.1.2.7
So, if the order's (item's total) weight is between 1 and 3 pounds (LB), the applicable "shipping rate" will be $5. Similarly, if the weight is between 4 and 6 pounds (LB), the applicable rate will be $7.
In this way, you can define the specific range ("From..To" values and applicable rate in flat $ or percentage %).
If you select the "By Distance" rate type, you will get the "Per Mile" calculation type. So, you can also define applicable shipping rates based on the distance in miles.
Figure 2.1.2.8
Once the standard shipping fulfillment is set up and configured, you need to save the details to apply to the online store.
You can see the shipping rate list along with rate name, type, sub-rate type, rate details, and action in the grid view.
Figure 2.1.2.9
You can edit/delete the shipping rate as needed.
Once you configure the standard shipping rate, save the configuration to apply to the online store.
