Transaction Age Validation Statistics Report Overview

Transaction Age Validation Statistics gives options to show the total number of transactions within a date range that were above or below a user-set age requirement, with options such as only loyalty transactions and age only visually verified. The system will display the records of Transaction Age Validation Statistics, only according to the filter options selected from the drop-down filter labeled “Report Type.

1. Reaching the Transaction Age Validation Statistics Reports

To reach the Transaction Age Validation Statistics, follow the below steps:
Step 1: Log into Control Center
Step 2: Choose Point of Sale
Step 3: Choose Reports
Step 4: Choose Sales Reports
Step 5: Choose Transaction Age Validation Statistics

See Figure A. You will see many types of sales reports that will be useful to your retail business. By clicking the drop-down selection, you will see the different types of sales reports.

You will see the "Report Data is Empty" message initially. You need to select the date range to check the "Transaction Age Validation Statistics." See Figure B.

2. Generating Transaction Age Validation Statistics Report

When you navigate to the page, you will see the options pre-selected by default. You can generate the Transaction Age Validation Statistics for the selected date range.

Fields:

  1. Transaction<21: If the age limit in the "Age" field is defined as 21, this column will display the number of sales for age-restricted items that are to be sold to customers of 21 years of age. The value in this column is defined as "0 | 0.00" (See Figure C) or "2 | 22.22 %" (as seen in Figure D), which is defined as the Number of Sales below 21 | Percentage of Sales under the user-set age requirement.
  2. Transaction>21+: The value in this column is defined as "0 | 0.00" or "2 | 22.22 %" which is defined as the Number of Sales below 21 | Percentage of Sales above the user-set age requirement.
  3. Total Transaction: This column gives the total number of transactions within a date range that were above or below a user-set age requirement.

3. Filter Items:

  1. Show All: This option displays all transactions for less/more than the entered age of all the items for all the store locations.
  2. Custom Filter (Manage): This button lets you apply some filters and generate filter-specific reports.

By clicking the "Manage" button, a "Manage Filters" window will pop up. You will see the following details highlighted in
Figure F.

  1. UPC: Universal Product Code (UPC) which helps in tracking items at the store. This UPC column displays the UPCs of the items that are listed. 
  2. Department: If you select "Department," you will see a report of items that are displayed department-wise. 
  3. Category: If you select "Category," you will see the product's category-wise sales data in the report. You can check the data in the report at the category level. You need to select the level from the "Category" drop-down selection. 
  4. Manufacturer: If you select "Manufacturer," you will see the manufacturer-specific inventory data in the report of the items that are transferred.
  5. Tag: If you select "Tag," you will get the tags-wise sales data for the group that is entered in the product details. When you select "Tag," the specific tag group will be enabled. 
  6. Department Tag: If you select "Department Tag," you will get the department tag sales data for the group that is entered in the product details. 
You can decide whether you want to "include" or "exclude" when the Transaction Age Validation Statistics are generated.

  1. Include: If the flag is selected to "Include," it means the sales report will be generated by applying the selected records.
  2. Exclude: If the "Exclude" flag is selected, the sales report will be generated, but the selected records will be ignored. It will consider the selected records that need to be excluded and the left-side records for reports.

4. Group By Filter:

Filters are meant to display a filter-specific report. Here, the report can be grouped into four different categories. See Figure G.

5. Date Range & Presets: 

You can filter your sales data in the report by selecting the date range as well as specific times.
By clicking the edit box, you will be taken to a tiny calendar where you can select a specific date range. You can also manually enter the date in mm/dd/yyyy format.

5.1 Start Date: This field lets you choose the start date of the date range.

5.3 Presets: The Presets label is provided to select the specific duration/interval to generate the report with that.

6. Group By Location:

  1. None: If any location is not selected, it will display the report for Transaction Age Validation Statistics items for every location by default. See Figure C.
  1. Location: If you select "Location," the data in the report for Transaction Age Validation Statistics will be displayed location-wise (stores) for each store. Once the location-specific report is generated.

  1. Location Group: You can also check the data in the report as per the location groups that are created in "Manage Location Groups" at Locations. If you select the "Location Group," the data will be displayed in the location group

9. Loyalty Status

  1. All: Choosing this will display all the transactions combining all the sales for loyalty and non-loyalty customers.
  2. Loyalty Sales: Choosing this will display the transactions for loyalty customers.
  3. Non-Loyalty Sales: Choosing this will exclude sales for loyalty customers.

10. Age

This field lets you enter the age number to be set as a validation for the transaction taking place at the POS.

11. Checkbox Filters:

  1. All Transactions: Checking this option will display all the transactions, e.g., loyalty, non-loyalty, visually verified, or manually verified. See Figure C.
  2. Visually Verified: Checking this option will display all the transactions that are visually verified.
