Product Brands Overview

A product manufactured by a single manufacturer can be labeled with different brand names. While creating a product in Control Center, adding the manufacturer name and then adding all the brand names under that manufacturer makes it easier for the cashier to easily search for and navigate all the products/brands produced by that single manufacturer. It also helps when making changes in Control Center with the mass updates tool.
This article focuses on creating a new brand and editing, and deleting the existing product brand in Control Center under the selected manufacturer. 

Reaching "Product Brands" 

To reach "Product Brands," follow the below steps:
  1. Step 1: Log into Control Center
  2. Step 2: Choose Point of Sale 
  3. Step 3: Choose Pricebook
  4. Step 4: Choose Products
  5. Step 5: Choose Brands

By selecting "Product Brands," you can see its page with various fields.

1. Adding a New Product Brand

Follow the steps mentioned below to add a new product brand:
  1. Click the “Add New” button in Figure 0.1 above to add a new product brand. 
  2. The form highlighted in Figure 1.1 will appear on your screen.

Fields and Buttons:
1. Brand Name: Enter the brand name in the product tree. Brand names will show in different categories.
2. Brand Description: Enter a brief description of the brand to describe its product types.
3. Manufacturer: Choose the manufacturer from the drop-down list who is supplying the products.

The system accepts a unique brand name for each manufacturer. If you try to add a brand that already exists for the selected manufacturer, the system will show you the error message.

4. Save & Close and Close Buttons: These buttons save, close, and cancel the changes made in the form.
  1. Enter the name of the manufacturer and click on the "Save" button to save the product category. Click the "Close" button to discard the changes and go back to the Product Brands page.

These created categories will help you keep your products organized, and allow you to make mass changes with the mass update tool more easily.

The brand can also be created directly from the "Products" page during product setup. To know more, click here: Products.

2. Emptying the Product Brand

Follow the steps mentioned below to empty the product brand:
  1. Click the “View Empty Brands” button highlighted in Figure 0.1 below to delete the selected product brands. 
  2. The form highlighted in Figure 2.1 will appear on your screen.

  1. If you check the box provided against the Empty Brand, it will select all the brand options available in the list.
  2. Select the desired brand from the list of all the brands that you want to delete.

  1. Click on "Yes" to delete the selected brand(s).

3. Editing the Product Brand

Follow the steps mentioned below to edit the product brand: 
  1. Click the Edit button highlighted in Figure 0.1 above to edit the existing product brand. See Figure 0.1.
  2. The form highlighted in Figure 3.1 will appear on your screen.

Make the required changes and click the "Save" or "Save & Close" button. 

4. Deleting the Product Brands

Follow the steps mentioned below to delete a product brand: 
  1. Click the Delete button highlighted in Figure 0.1 above to delete a product brand.
  2. A warning dialog box will appear with two related options.

  1. Click “Yes, Delete” to continue the process of deleting the product brand.
  2. Click “Cancel” to close the pop-up and skip the deletion process.
