Uplifts Overview

"Uplifts" is a premium module in FTx Cloud POS designed to boost in-store sales through strategic upselling. It works by notifying customers of active promotions via a secondary customer-facing display while simultaneously providing the cashier with a ready-made sales pitch to encourage add-on purchases. This dual-sided approach ensures both employees and customers are aware of ongoing deals, increasing the likelihood of impulse buys and higher transaction values.

Uplifts can be seamlessly integrated with existing system discounts and loyalty programs, making it a powerful tool to enhance customer engagement and employee performance.

1. Uplift Discounts:
When a customer purchases an item designated as an
Uplift Trigger Item, a promotional message (configured under Add New Uplift > Details Tab > Clerk Message) prompts the cashier to upsell a related product. If the customer adds the suggested item, they receive an individual discount for that specific promotional pairing.

2. Uplift Commissions:
If an employee successfully sells both the trigger item and the promoted item, they become eligible to earn a commission — helping incentivize staff participation and drive consistent upsell performance.

Reaching Uplifts Module

To reach "Uplifts," follow the below steps:
  1. Step 1: Log into Control Center
  2. Step 2: Choose Signage

                                                Figure 1.2.0
Field Information:
  1. Trigger ValueSets the minimum cart value or quantity needed before the Uplift offer is shown to the customer. The values are defined in the "Item Management" tab, numbered as ⁣ , which is explained in the latter part of the document.
  2. Spiff Amount: Defines a monetary reward or commission (called a spiff) that is given to the cashier/employee for successfully upselling the promoted item.
  3. Win Min Quantity: Specifies the minimum quantity of trigger items a customer must purchase for the Uplift promotion (and spiff or discount) to apply.
  4. Discount Amount: The value of the discount offered to the customer — can be a fixed dollar amount or a percentage.
  5. Discount Selection: Allows you to choose whether the discount applies to all items in the list or to a specific item from the UPC list.
  6. Auto Win: This is a toggle that, when set to "Yes," will automatically apply commissions for the employees when the configured value in the Auto Win at field is met.
  1. Auto Win At: This field works in conjunction with the Auto Win toggle.
    • When Auto Win is enabled (Yes), the system will automatically apply the Uplift promotion without requiring cashier action if the trigger item quantity reaches or exceeds the value specified in "Auto Win At."

                                              Figure 1.2.1
Example: If Auto Win At = 1, and the customer buys at least 1 trigger item, the Uplift discount and promotion will be automatically applied—no upsell prompt or manual trigger needed by the cashier.
This feature ensures smoother, quicker transactions and guarantees that qualifying sales automatically benefit from the Uplift offer.
  1. Require Loyalty: If enabled, the Uplift promotion will only apply to customers who are part of your loyalty program.
