Negative Items Report Overview
The Negative Items Report will display the data of those products that had any type (void, cancel, return, etc.) of negative transaction(s). The system will display the data of products with negative transaction(s) that took place within the specifically selected date range.
Different types of filters can also be configured, depending on your requirements. The system will display the records of products with negative transaction(s), only according to the selected filter options. The system will display several fields with detailed and automatically calculated information about all the products that had negative transaction(s) during a particular date range, by a particular cashier, or at a particular store location.
Reaching the Negative Items Report
To reach the Negative Items Report, follow the below steps:
- Step 1: Log into Control Center
- Step 2: Choose Point of Sale
- Step 3: Choose Reports
- Step 4: Choose Sales Reports
- Step 5: Choose Negative Items
See Figure A. You will see many types of sales reports that will be useful to your retail business. By clicking the "Choose Report" drop-down selection, you will see the different types of sales reports.

You will see the "Report Data is Empty" message initially. You need to select the date range to check the negative item in the report. See Figure B.

1. Generating the Negative Items Report
When you navigate to the Negative Items Report page, you will see the options pre-selected by default. You can generate the report for the selected date range.

Fields:
- Store #: This column displays the store number.
- Name: Here in this column, the name of the store location is mentioned.
- Cashier: This column displays the name of the cashier who handled the transaction of negative items.
- Type: This column describes the type of negative item transaction, such as Cancel Sale, Returned, Void, or No Sale.
- Reg#: This column displays the number of the register that was used to handle the negative item transaction.
- Receipt: In this column, the receipt number is mentioned.
- Timestamp: The timestamp column displays the date and time of the negative item transaction.
- UPC: The UPC of the item(s) that are involved in the negative item transaction to the store.
- Name: This column is actually the name of the item that is part of a negative item transaction.
- Qty: The quantity of the items that are involved in any kind of negative item transaction is mentioned in this column.
- Price Each: This column displays the price of the item(s) involved in the negative item transaction.
- Actions: This is a view button that, upon clicking, will take you to the detailed negative item transaction on the E-journal Report page.
2. Filter Items
- Show All: This option displays the Negative Items for all the store locations.
- Custom Filter (Manage): This button lets you apply some filters and generate filter-specific reports.

By clicking the "Manage" button, a "Manage Filters" window will pop up. You will see the following details highlighted in Figure E.

- UPC: Universal Product Code (UPC), which helps in tracking items at the store. This UPC column displays the UPCs of the items that are listed.
- Department: If you select "Department," you will see a report of items that are displayed department-wise.
- Category: If you select "Category," you will see the product's category-wise sales data in the report. You can check the data in the report at the category level. You need to select the level from the "Category" drop-down selection.
- Manufacturer: If you select "Manufacturer," you will see the manufacturer-specific inventory data in the report of the items that are transferred.
- Tag: If you select "Tag," you will get the tags-wise sales data for the group that is entered in the product details. When you select the "Tag," the specific tag group will be enabled.
- Vendor: If you select "Vendor," you will get the vendor-wise sales data for the group that is entered in the product details.
After selecting and moving the records under the "Selected List." See Figure F.

2.1 Save Filters
You can also save the configured custom filters for future use. By clicking the "Save Filters" button, a pop-up will appear to allow you to enter the name of the custom filter.

3. Date Range & Presets
You can filter your sales data in the report by selecting the date range as well as specific times.
By clicking the edit box, you will be taken to a tiny calendar where you can select a specific date range. You can also manually enter the date in mm/dd/yyyy format.

3.1 Start Date: This field lets you choose the start date of the date range.

3.3 Presets: The Presets label is provided to select the specific duration/interval to generate the report with that.

Checkbox Filters:
Only Item Returns:
This filter will display the Negative Returns with only the "Item Returns" Report. See Figure K.

- Show Summary
This filter will summarize and display the negative item transaction along with its value for the selected locations or for all locations.
