Sales Tax Report

The "Sales Tax Report" will display the detailed sales tax-related data for each location during a specifically entered date range. Multiple different types of filters can also be configured, depending on your requirements. The system will display records of detailed sales tax data only according to the selected filter options. The system will also display several other fields, with detailed and automatically calculated information on all the tax rate types.

1. Reaching the "Sales Tax Report"

To reach the "Sales Tax Report," follow the below steps:
  1. Step 1: Log into Control Center
  2. Step 2: Choose Point of Sale
  3. Step 3: Choose Reports
  4. Step 4: Choose Sales Reports
  5. Step 5: Choose Sales Tax 
See Figure 1.1. You will see many types of sales reports that will be useful to your retail business. By clicking the "Choose Report" drop-down selection, you will see the different types of sales reports. select "Sales Tax."

By clicking "Sales Tax," you will be redirected to the Sales Tax Report page with relevant filtering and sorting options.

You will see the "Report Data is Empty" message initially. You need to select the date range to check the summarized sales data in the report. 

2. Generating the "Sales Tax Report"

When you navigate to the report, you will see the options pre-selected by default. You can generate the "Sales Tax Report" for the selected date range.

Fields:
  1. Store: This column displays the name of the store location.
  2. Tax Type: This column will display the tax type that is selected from the Sales Tax Rate drop-down selection.
  3. Tax Rate: This is the tax rate that is predefined in the sales tax type.
  4. Taxable Gross Sales: This column displays the value of gross sales that is taxable in the selected date range.
  5. Refunded Sales: This column displays the value of the refunded amount for the items that are returned at the store. It is generally represented as a negative value.  
  6. Taxable Sales: This column displays the sales value that is taxable.
  7. Tax Collected: This column displays the value of tax collected in the selected date range.
  8. Tax Refunded: In this column, the value of the tax that has been refunded in the selected date range at that location is displayed.
  9. Net Tax Collected: Here, the amount value of net tax collected over the total number of sales in the selected date range is displayed.
  10. Tax Exempt Sale: This column displays the sales value for which the sales tax is not applicable.
  11. All Sales Total: All sales total values are displayed in this column location-wise in the selected date range.
  12. Total Sales With Tax: In this column, the total sales amount added to the tax amount is displayed.

You can filter your sales data in the report by selecting the date range as well as specific times.

By clicking the edit box, you will be taken to a tiny calendar where you can select a specific date range. You can also manually enter the date in mm/dd/yyyy format.

3.1 Presets:

Presets drop-down menu is provided to select the specific duration/interval to generate the Sales Tax Report in the selected time period.

4. Sales Tax:

This is a drop-down list that consists of various tax rates that are applied if checked. You can select as many tax rates as you want by checking the checkboxes.

5. Checkbox Filters

5.1 Group By Date:

Checking this filter will group the Sales Tax Report by date in ascending order. See Figure 5.1.1.

5.2 Group By Location:

Checking this filter will group the Sales Tax Report by location. See Figure 5.2.1.

6. Scheduling a Report

FTx Cloud POS supports report automation. You can configure a report and schedule it. The system will send the scheduled report to the indicated email IDs at the defined frequencies (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).

7. Printing/Exporting a Report 

You can print or export any report according to your requirements. When you use the Print function, the system creates and opens the report's PDF file in a new tab. You can download the soft copy or print the paper copy according to your requirements.

8. Manage Favorites 

FTx Cloud POS allows quick access to the reports you need to view frequently through Favorite Reports. You can save a report as a favorite and manage all your favorite reports from any of the report screens using the "Manage Favorites" button.
